TONIGHT: The RedHawks continue this 4-game series with Game 2 against the New Orleans Zephyrs (Florida Marlins) at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. OKC won the series opener last night 14-3. OKC is 4-1 during this 8-game homestand and has won 9 of 13 at home. At 14-7, OKC has matched its highest point above .500 this season. The RedHawks are in first place in the American South Division, 2 games up on Albuquerque. New Orleans is third, 5.5 games behind OKC. Lefthander Michael Kirkman gets the start for the RedHawks, his first career outing against the Zephyrs. Righthander Ryan Tucker goes for New Orleans.
SEASON HIGHS ALL AROUND: OKC set season highs last night in runs (14), hits (18), doubles (5) and margin of victory in the 14-3 win. The RedHawks also turned a season-high 3 double plays. Derek Holland set the team high for strikeouts by an individual pitcher in a game with 8.
TEAM RANKINGS: The 18-hit performance raised the RedHawks' team batting average from .278 yesterday to its current .288, second in the league behind Albuquerque's .293. OKC leads the PCL in on-base percentage (.367) and runs (126) and is tied for the lead in home runs (22) and triples (10). The RedHawks are second in slugging (.456). OKC is second in team ERA at 3.06 behind Nashville's 2.77. The RedHawks have the league's second-lowest WHIP (walks + hits per innings pitched) at 1.19.
LEADERS: Chad Tracy leads the PCL in total bases (52) and is tied for second in homers (6) and is second in RBIs (20). He's also fourth in slugging (.658) and tied for third in hits (27). Tracy is tied with four other players for the extra-base hit lead with 12. Esteban German leads the PCL in runs scored with 19. Derek Holland lowered his league-best ERA to 0.53 last night.
HOW HOLLAND'S ERA RANKS: Derek Holland's 0.53 ERA ranks sixth in all of professional baseball (majors and minors) to this point in the season among those with enough innings to qualify.

TANNER SCHEPPERS ARRIVES: Texas promoted RHP Tanner Scheppers from Double-A Frisco to OKC today. The 44th overall pick in last year's draft had 2 saves and a 0.82 ERA in 6 games, walking none and striking out 19 in 11 Texas League innings. Scheppers is in his first season of affiliated ball after making 4 starts for the independent St. Paul Saints last year before entering the draft.
MORE TRACY: Chad Tracy brings a 14-game on-base streak into tonight's play. He shares the league's longest active on-base streak with Jason Castro of Round Rock. Tracy has failed to reach base by hit or walk only once this season, April 13. He has hits in 17 of 20 games played.
DAVIS PRODUCES: Chris Davis is 8-for-18 (.444) with 1 homer and 9 RBIs since being optioned by Texas. He has hit safely in all 4 games played.
SERIES STARTS: Last night's win improved the RedHawks' record in series openers to 4-2. OKC is 1-4 in series finales but has yet to lose a series, winning three and splitting two.
