Jack Murphy Joins Lugnuts

LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts, in conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, announced Friday that catcher Jack Murphy has been transferred to the Lugnuts roster from Extended Spring Training.Murphy, 22, was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays out of Princeton University in the 31st round of the 2009 Amateur Draft. In 48 games last season between the Gulf Coast League and New York-Penn League, he batted .268 with three home runs and 22 RBIs.
Lansing begins a seven-game homestand with the opener of a three-game series tonight against Fort Wayne, first pitch set for 2:05 p.m.
