Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
For the third game in a row, Indianapolis continued its mastery over the PawSox. On Thursday night, the Indians knocked off Pawtucket 4-1. Loser Randor Bierd (2-2) allowed all 4 runs in the first four innings. Bierd worked 5 innings before Robert Manuel and Scott Atchison mopped up with 4 shutout innings. Manuel has not surrendered a run this season in 14 innings pitched.
The only PawSox offense was generated by Josh Reddick. Reddick (2-4) hit a solo homer in the sixth. Highly anticipated prospect Lars Anderson made his Pawtucket debut, pinch-hitting for Mark Wagner. The catcher left the game due to an injury. Anderson took over down in the count 0-1. He grounded to the pitcher.
The PawSox will try to salvage the final game of the series and homestand on Friday evening. Game time is 6:15 p.m. Brad Lincoln (2-1, 3.63) faces Adam Mills (0-2, 4.26).
