"La Super Copa" Draw Held Saturday At Babylon Futbol Cafe

Washington, D.C. (March 24, 2010) - D.C. United announced today the draw for the fifth edition of La Super Copa will be held Saturday, March 27 at Babylon Futbol Café in Falls Church, Va. from 8-11 p.m. ET. The draw will take place during halftime of D.C. United's first game of the season, as the club takes on the Kansas City Wizards at 7:30 p.m. Babylon Futbol Café will offer half-priced appetizers and drink specials from 6:30-8 p.m. La Super Copa presented by Volkswagen is sponsored by Verizon Wireless, adidas and D.C. Lottery.

Following the preliminary rounds this past weekend, the 16 teams that will participate in the invitational tournament have been set. British Tigers, Potros, Toluca, AV Challenge, Arsenal and Juventus de Suitland all won their games to advance to the main draw of the tournament. These teams join Moncagua, Tierra Blanca, Aegean Hawks, La Chapin, Deportivo Canilla, Tiataco, Real San Vicente, Victoria, Brickman and FAS in the first round.

The tournament will kick off with first round games on Saturday, April 3 and Saturday, April 10 at the RFK Stadium Auxiliary Field. Admission for all games is free of charge. Participating teams are required to have won the championship in their local league.

All teams receive one MLS match ball and a full set of 20 new adidas team uniforms. There will be a cash prize of $5,000 for the Cup winner and $2,000 for the runner-up as well as team trophies and individual medals.
