Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The American Hockey League and the Professional Hockey Players' Association today unveiled the 2009-10 AHL Top Prospects trading card set, featuring 50 of the outstanding young players in the AHL. Rochester Americans defenseman Keaton Ellerby and goaltender Alexander Salak are among those featured in the card set.

The set, manufactured by Choice SportsCards of Aston, Pa., features action photos and career statistics of rising stars from all 29 AHL teams. The cards are available for purchase online at ahlstore.com and in select AHL arenas.

In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 85 percent of today's NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and more than 6.5 million fans per season have attended AHL games across North America since 2001.

The Amerks close out their five-game homestand on Friday, February 26th as they host the Grand Rapids Griffins at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be the third of six scheduled meetings between the North Division rivals this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. The game will also be televised live on Channel 98.

Friday's game falls on the next installment of the Amerks *Dollar Dogs 'N' Drafts* promotion. Friday night, and now during every Friday night home game for the rest of the season, fans can take part in the "Dollar Dogs 'N' Drafts" promotion and purchase Zweigle's Hot Dogs and Draft Beers for just $1 each!
