Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, ID Jan. 4, 2010 - It was a good night to be in Boise.

As the Boise State Broncos were taking care of business against TCU in the Fiesta Bowl, the Idaho Stampede had a party of their own at Qwest Arena, defeating the Springfield Armor, 111-88 in the fourth game of the 2010 NBA D-League Showcase.

Anthony Tolliver scored 24 points, while Sundiata Gaines added 19 points, six assists and five steals for the Stampede, which improved to 9-4, moving within one game of Rio Grande Valley for first place in the Western Conference.

"It was tough playing our third game in four nights, but at the end of the day we got the win, and my shot was falling, so it was a good night," said Tolliver, who had a recent stint with the Portland Trail Blazers. "This is an opportunity. It's all anyone can ask for, the chance to get in front of scouts and show them what you can bring to the table."

Morris Almond, who spent the past two seasons with the Utah Jazz, led Springfield with 31 points, 21 of those coming in the first half, as Springfield went into the locker room trailing 54-50. T.J Cummings added 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Armor, which fell to 2-12.

Springfield is back in action tomorrow against Dakota. Idaho plays again on Wednesday against Fort Wayne.
