Utah Flash News Release

BOISE, ID Jan. 5, 2010 - Mustafa Shakur's driving layup with 47 seconds left in regulation pushed Tulsa's lead to five, and the 66ers held on for a 99-96 win over the Utah Flash in the sixth game of the 2010 NBA D-League Showcase at Qwest Arena.

Shakur led Tulsa (10-6) with 24 points. The 6-3 guard from Arizona also added nine assists for the 66ers, who shot a blistering 55 percent from the field. D.J. White, on assignment from the Oklahoma City Thunder, finished with 17 points on 8-for-13 shooting to go with a game-high 11 rebounds.

"I think at the beginning of the game, I was a little bit too aggressive, and I needed to relax and just set the table for my teammates," said Shakur, who ranks sixth in the NBA D-League in assists at 6.6 apg. "That opened up some things for me as the game went on and I was able to take advantage."

Dontell Jefferson, who appeared in six games for the Charlotte Bobcats during the 2008-09 season, led Utah with 21 points. Carlos Wheeler added 18 points for the Utah, which dropped to 8-7.

Both teams return to action Thursday, with Tulsa taking on Albuquerque and Utah squaring off against Fort Wayne.
