OMAHA, NE - It's Opening Day number two on Saturday, June 27 when the Royals return home from the longest road trip in Minor League baseball to host the Albuquerque Isotopes at 7:05 p.m. at Rosenblatt Stadium. The home stand culminates with the 25th annual Fireworks by Grucci spectacular on Friday, July 3rd! These exciting promotions are scheduled for the seven-game home stand vs. Albuquerque and New Orleans:
Saturday, June 27, 7:05 p.m.: The Royals celebrate Opening Day number two with post-game fireworks! Also, the Royals will wear red caps, which will be auctioned to fans after the game to benefit the ALS Association. In conjunction with that fundraiser, there will be a live re-enactment of Lou Gehrig's farewell speech, marking the 70th anniversary of the famous event.
Sunday, June 28, 1:35 p.m.: It's U.S. Bank Family FUNday, with clowns, face painting and balloon art, plus after the game all kids are invited to run the bases with Casey! Subway Kids Club members receive a FREE ticket to the game! Any fan bringing an Our Family Brand food item gets a FREE G.A. ticket, with all canned goods going to the Open Door Mission. It's also Health Care Day: health care industry employees receive a ticket and a voucher for a hot dog and a Coke for only $8. Call (402) 738-5114 for more information. Monday, June 29, 7:05 p.m.: Head to Rosenblatt for $1 hot dogs, courtesy of Rotella's Italian Bakery! The night is also presented by 89.7 The River and the Daily Nonpareil.
Tuesday, June 30, 12:05 p.m.: Enjoy ½-price Omaha Steaks burgers! The day is also presented by 1110 KFAB.
Wednesday, July 1, 7:05 p.m.: It's Subway Kids Eat Free Night: the 1st 100 kids 12-and-under receive a free personal Subway pizza and all kids after that get a free hot dog and Coke. Subway Kids Club members get a FREE ticket to the game! The night is also presented by Star 104.5, KXVO-CW 15 and The West O, the Midtown O and the Sarpy Sun Newspapers.
Thursday, July 2, 7:05 p.m.: Start the holiday weekend early with Thirsty Thursday! Enjoy $1 beers and Cokes, presented by 96.1 The Brew, Action 3 News and the City Weekly.
Friday, July 3, 6:35 p.m.: It's the Mother of all fireworks shows - the 25th annual Independence Day Fireworks by Grucci spectacular - presented by the Omaha World-Herald, the City of Omaha, Star 104.5 and the Omaha Royals! Stadium gates open at 4:00 p.m. Between innings you will be entertained by the world-famous Bucket Boys and their dazzling performances playing five-gallon plastic buckets! The Confidentials perform in concert from a stage in the right-center field bleachers between the end of the game and the best fireworks show in the Midwest! A $3 shuttle service will be running from Westroads and Oakview to Rosenblatt between 3:45-7:00 p.m. and back to the malls at the end of the night.
