Goalie Shantz Recalled by NHL's Florida Panthers

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers' head coach Bill McDonald announced today that goaltender David Shantz has been recalled by the NHL's Florida Panthers and reassigned to their "AAA" affiliate, the Rochester Americans.

Shantz, a 2nd round (#37) draft pick by the Panthers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, has already appeared in five games with the Americans this season. The six-foot-one-inch netminder has also seen action in 34 games in the ECHL, split between Dayton and the Elmira Jackals. He's compiled a 15-13-3-1 record with a 3.04 GAA and .893 save percentage.

The Bombers take on the Trenton Devils tonight at 7:30 p.m. for the second night of "Fan Appreciation Weekend" with prizes and giveaways all throughout the game. It's also the final "Military Appreciation Night" and Silver level tickets are 2-for-1 with a military or WPAFB ID at the box office.
