White To Fly In D-League Slam Dunk Contest

February 5, 2009 - NBA Development League (D-League) Anaheim Arsenal

ANAHEIM, CA (February 5, 2009) - The Anaheim Arsenal announced that James White will participate in the NBA D-League's Dream Factory Friday night Slam Dunk Competition during NBA D-League All-Star festivities on Friday, February 13th in Phoenix, AZ. The event will take place at Center Court at NBA Jam Session presented by adidas at 6:15 PST.

White will compete against Brent Petway, the 2008 NBA D-League Slam Dunk Champion (Idaho Stampede), Patrick Ewing, Jr. (Reno Bighorns) and Keith Clark (Tulsa 66ers). The competition will consist of two rounds of two dunks each with the two top scorers from the first round advancing to the championship round.

A 6-7, 200 pound forward out of Cincinnati, White has amazed Arsenal crowds as well as opposing defenses with his aerial maneuvers. White is one the top scorers in the NBA D-League as he averages 25.5 points per game and posted 47 points in a single game to set the NBA D-League's season high.
