San Jose Sharks Reassign Forwards Staubitz And Cavanagh To Worcester, Recall Forward Lemieux

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forwards Brad Staubitz and Tom Cavanagh to the Worcester Sharks, the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League and recalled forward Claude Lemieux.

The team also placed defenseman Brad Lukowich on injured reserve, retroactive to Jan. 6.

Lemieux has played in 23 games with Worcester, posting 11 points (3-8=11), 24 penalty minutes and a +2 rating. He was originally signed by San Jose as a free agent on Dec. 29, 2007.

Staubitz played in 15 games with San Jose this season, posting three points (1-2=3) and 42 penalty minutes. In 23 games with Worcester, he has one assist and 58 penalty minutes. He was signed as a free agent by San Jose on Sept. 19, 2005.

Cavanagh spent 12 games with San Jose, adding one assist and two penalty minutes. In 21 games with Worcester, he posted 18 points (9-9=18) and 17 penalty minutes. He was originally selected by San Jose in the sixth round (182nd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
