Montreal Reassigns Marc Denis to Hamilton

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that goaltender Marc Denis has been reassigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs from the Canadiens.

Denis, 31, has a 3.00 goals against average and a .857 save percentage after playing 20:00 minutes with Montreal on January 2nd. In 22 games with Hamilton in 2008-2009, the 6'1", 193-pound, left-handed-catching netminder has posted a record of 14 wins and seven losses while posting a 2.60 goals against average and a .914 saving percentage. The Sorel, Quebec native is currently tied for ninth in the American Hockey League in wins with 14 and tied in fourth for shutouts with three. In his last start for Hamilton on Tuesday, December 30th, 2008, Denis stopped all 21 Toronto shots and stretched his shutout streak to 113:32 in the Hamilton Bulldogs' 4-0 victory over the Marlies.
