Pirates Host Special Guests for Monday Matinee

On Monday, January 19th the Portland Pirates will welcome Nickelodeon's Diego from "Go Diego Go" to the Pirates matinee game against the Hartford Wolf Pack at 1:00 pm. Diego's appearance is sponsored by Time Warner Cable and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Nickelodeon's Diego Marquez is an 8-year-old action-adventure hero who loves nature and animals. Diego's mission is to help rescue an animal in trouble. He's athletic, fearless and determined. He is always ready no matter what situation he faces. Diego loves learning new things and is looking forward to his first Pirates game!
After the game, Diego will greet fans at ice level before the skate with the team, sponsored by Weight Watchers and Mercy Hospital.
In addition to Diego, Willie O'Ree, the first Canadian of African decent to play in the NHL will also make a special appearance at the game along with other members of the NAACP. It will also be Maine Recreations and Parks Associations Day. Fans will have the opportunity to sign up for a chance to win a 2009 Maine State Park pass.
