Cleveland Monsters News Release
Fans will get the best of both hockey worlds on December 6th, when the Lake Erie Monsters and Quicken Loans Arena host a college/professional hockey double-header. The Ohio State University will face Robert Morris University at 4:00 p.m., prior to the Monsters hosting the Iowa Chops at 7:30 p.m.
One ticket will provide fans entry to both exciting contests. Tickets start at just $10 and can be purchased through LakeErieMonsters.com or by calling 216-420-0000.
The Buckeyes and Colonials will meet for the second time this season when they clash at The Q. On November 14th, the Buckeyes beat RMU, 4-0, at the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh in the Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase.
Monsters left wing Tom Fritsche, the third selection (47th overall) of the Colorado Avalanche in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, is a former Buckeye and a native of Parma, Ohio. He scored 107 points in 137 games over the course of four seasons with the Buckeyes, and led the team in scoring his freshman and sophomore seasons.
The Buckeyes also have ties with the area as defensemen Nick Biondo and Chris Reed are from the Greater Cleveland area. Biondo, a senior, has registered two assists in four games this season and hails from Parma. Sophomore Chris Reed, a native of Solon, has recorded five points (1G, 4A) through 11 games with the Buckeyes.
Also visiting his home state of Ohio on December 6th will be Robert Morris goalie and Chagrin Falls native Brooks Ostergard.
Monsters full season and partial season ticket plans, starting at just $10 per seat per game, as well as group tickets, are on sale now by visiting LakeErieMonsters.com or calling (216) 420-0000.
