Dayton Bombers Weekend Preview

Fans, your Bombers are on the road where they will face off against the Trenton Devils in a pair of division match-ups tonight and tomorrow before heading to Reading, PA for a Sunday game against the Royals.

This will be the first meeting between the Bombers and both Trenton and Reading. The Devils are currently 2-5-0-1, sitting in last place in the North Division, while the Royals are just a point ahead with a 3-5-0 record this season.

For the Devils, winger Eric Castonguay leads the team with 12 points (3g,9a), while Trevor Kell tops the roster with 5 goals. Goalie Jason Smith is 0-3-0-1 with a 3.67 GAA and .857 save percentage.

Trenton is 1-4-0 at home and ranks 8th in the league on the power play at 21.1%. They are 76.9% on the penalty kill, however.

The Reading Royals will first play a pair of games at Johnstown before facing the Bombers. Royals centermen Shawn Snider and Tyler Doig both have 8 points to lead the team, while Mac Faulkner sets the bar with four goals. Danny Taylor and rookie James Reimer have been sharing goaltending duties throughout the start of the season.

Reading is just 1-3-0 at home and ranks last in the league on the penalty kill on their home ice, just 67.9%. They also rank 21 of 23 teams with a 4.00 goals allowed average. In contrast, the Bombers rank 14th, allowing 3.33 goals per game.

Action returns to the Miami Valley on Saturday, November 15 when the Johnstown Chiefs take on the Bombers at Troy, Ohio's historic Hobart Arena at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and on sale now at the Hobart Arena box office or www.hobartarena.com. Then on Sunday, November 16 the Chiefs stop by the Nutter Center for a 5:00 p.m. rematch. Kids 12 and under are FREE with the purchase of an adult Silver level ticket at the Nutter Center box office. The first 1,500 fans will receive Player Trading Card Set #1 and the included players will have a post-game autograph session.
