Alaska's Richards Suspended Six Games, Fined

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that it has suspended Alaska left wing Robin Richards for six games and fined him an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #87 at Idaho on Nov. 6.

Richards was assessed a game misconduct under Rule 46.5 Elbowing at 12:00 of the second period.

"The elbow by Mr. Richards to the head area of his opponent was reckless and dangerous," said ECHL Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations Rod Pasma. "Deliberate and intentional blows to the head will not be tolerated in the ECHL"

Richards is suspended and fined under Rule 29 Supplemental Discipline.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Richards will miss Alaska's games at Idaho (Nov. 7), vs. Utah (Nov. 14), vs. Utah (Nov. 15), vs. Utah (Nov. 16), at Victoria (Nov. 19) and at Victoria (Nov. 21).
