Hitmen Complete Trade With Tri-City Americans

Calgary, AB - Calgary Hitmen General Manager Kelly Kisio announced today 19-year-old defenceman Scott Maetche (MET-key) has been traded to the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a conditional seventh round pick in the 2009 Bantam Draft.
"With our abundance of defencemen we wanted to move Scott to a place where he would get the opportunity to play," said Kisio. "We would like thank Scott for his commitment to our organization and wish him well with the Americans."
Maetche, 6'2" 167lbs, was in his first season with the Hitmen. The product of Lacombe, Alberta appeared in nine games and was a +1 while collecting three assists.
The trade of Maetche leaves the Hitmen with 23 players on their roster including 14 forwards, seven defencemen and two goalies.
Calgary wraps up a three road trip tonight in Saskatoon against the Blades. The Hitmen lead the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference with a record of 13-3-1-0 while the Blades sit second at 11-5-1-0.
