Minnesota Lynx News Release
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - What do cotton candy, a duck pond, breast cancer support and the Minnesota Lynx have in common?
They will all be at the second-annual U.S. Bank Lynx Go Pink fund-raiser on Saturday, July 26th, from 3-5:30 p.m. The Lynx will transform Target Center into a pink carnival to raise funds to support the Jean Stankoski Scholarship Fund and the Minnesota Lynx Foundation.
Doors to the Target Center open at 3 p.m., where guests can enjoy carnival fare from corn dogs to cotton candy and try their hand at their favorite games staffed by the Minnesota Lynx players and coaches. This event is a great opportunity to get autographs and photos. In addition, guests will be able to bid on memorabilia, experiences and gift cards at the silent auction or take a spin on the prize wheel. A ceremony will follow where the Lynx will celebrate the first recipient of the $10,000 Jean Stankoski Scholarship, congratulate the 2008 Lynx Foundation grant recipient and honor a local woman for her outstanding spirit.
Tickets to the U.S. Bank Lynx Go Pink event are $25 and include complimentary food, refreshments, and a T-shirt. The U.S. Bank Lynx Go Pink Package, which includes a ticket to the event, a T-shirt and a ticket to the Lynx game on July 27 against the Los Angeles Sparks can be purchased for $35. "Breast Health Awareness is a cause that not only is near and dear to everyone's heart, but it is also an initiative that the Minnesota Lynx organization has embraced throughout our 10-year history in the WNBA," said Angela Taylor, Lynx Vice President of Business Operations. "We are proud to partner with U.S. Bank on Lynx Go Pink, a family-friendly event that furthers our mission to raise funds in support of breast cancer education and awareness in the state of Minnesota. Where else does cotton candy, carnival games, and a collective effort to wipe out this disease go hand in hand?"
"The U.S. Bank Lynx Go Pink event is a unique way Lynx fans and the entire community can come together to support a great cause, while also having a great time," said Christine Hobrough, Twin Cities Regional Market Manager for U.S. Bank. "U.S. Bank is proud to help support these efforts to raise funds for the Jean Stankoski Scholarship Fund and the Minnesota Lynx Foundation."
