Portland Sea Dogs News Release

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs have teamed up with 99.9 FM The Wolf and Akari Salon to host "All the Hair You Can Spare" Night at Hadlock Field. The cutting event will take place on Friday May 23rd when the Sea Dogs take on the New Britain Rock Cats at 6:00pm. All donated hair will go to Pantene's Beautiful Length's program, which will use the hair to make wigs for individuals who have lost their hair while battling cancer.

There are already more than twenty-five donors from all over New England making the cut that night, including Liz Riley, the Sea Dogs' Director of Group Sales. Each brave donor will receive two reserved seats to that evening's game, a Sea Dogs hat, the option to have their hair finished by the expert stylists from Akari Salon immediately after the cut as well as the knowledge that their donation will go towards improving the life of a person struggling with a debilitating disease.

To donate, an individual must have at least 8-10 inches of non-chemically treated hair, that is less than 5% gray. Hair from men, women and children are all accepted and greatly appreciated. Once Pantene creates the wigs, they are distributed to select American Cancer Society wig banks throughout the United States. If you are interested in obtaining a Pantene Beautiful Length's wig, please contact the American Cancer Society at 1-877-227-1596. If you are interested in donating your hair that evening at Hadlock Field, please contact Liz Riley at 207-874-9300 or lriley@seadogs.com.
