CHARLESTON - The Charleston RiverDogs have activated third baseman Bradley Suttle from the Disabled List, the Yankees announced Thursday. Suttle will make his return to the starting lineup Thursday evening, as the RiverDogs host the Columbus Catfish at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in the first of a four-game series that kicks off an eight-game homestand.

The highly-touted Yankee prospect had been on the DL with a hip flexor strain since April 13, when he was removed in the 11th inning of the RiverDogs' 4-3, 11-inning victory over the Rome Braves on April 12.

A former Texas Longhorn standout, Suttle started his inaugural season in the South Atlantic League (SAL) hitting at a .500 clip through the first seven games to lead the league. He currently boasts a .368 average with one home run and three RBI.

Suttle's activation adds another reason for optimism among RiverDogs fans. Charleston's 17-3 record is currently the second-best in all of professional baseball. The best record belongs to the Salt Lake Bees, the Class-AAA Pacific Coast League (PCL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, who sit at 17-1.

The RiverDogs just completed a 6-2 road trip, its best eight-game trip since May 2005. That came on the heels of the best eight-game homestand in Riley Park history, when the club went 8-0 against Savannah and Rome earlier this month.
