Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
Kannapolis, NC - The Intimidators offense struck early but wasn't enough in a 4-2 loss to Lake County in the opener of a four-game series at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.
The Intimidators scored in the first on a RBI single from Jose Martinez to bring in Sergio Morales. But Lake County answered with a two-run homer in the second off the bat of Chris Nash.
In the third Kannapolis tied it up at two with a two out RBI from Jose Martinez on a single to plate Christian Marrero.
In the next frame, the Captains put two more runs on the board with a two-run double from Matt Brown to score Jeff Hahr and Karexon Sanchez.
The rest of the game features zeroes across the board. Santo Luis threw 3.2 scoreless innings in relief of starter Charlie Shirek. Shirek left with an injury in the fifth inning.
The same clubs are back at it again tomorrow at 7:05pm. It's Team Photo Night between the Intimidators and Captains.
