Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release

Home, sweet home! After a weekend trip to North Little Rock where the Northwest Arkansas Naturals found the Arkansas Travelers not so inviting, the club returns to Springdale to kick off eight days of home cooking in hopes that returning to Arvest Ballpark can heat up their bats and, hopefully, make some marks in the win column.

The eight-day homestand starts with four games against the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The baby Cards have no fewer than four of the organization's top ten prospects according to Baseball America, and several other prospects that rate in the Cards' top 30. But, like the Naturals, Springfield has struggled at the season's outset, perhaps because of the peach-faced prospects facing their first taste of higher competition in Double-A. Nonetheless, expect these two teams, close in geography, to foster a rivalry at the Double-A level that is similar to the I-70 rivalry series their respective parent clubs maintain at baseball's highest level.

Aside from the interior of the white lines, the Naturals have some great promotions on tap this week. The homestand kicks off with Monday Night Lights, presented by Ozarks Electric Cooperative Corporation, Sam98, Y94, and the Morning News. On Mondays, fans can bring in their Ozarks Electric bill for $1 off of a Premium, Reserved, or Subway Berm ticket at the box office. Monday night also means Baseball Bingo by The Morning News, so fans should pay close attention to the baseball action on Mondays. Sam98 and Y94.9 will also broadcast live. This Monday, as promised on Opening Night, will feature spectacular POST-GAME FIREWORKS! In addition, 40/29 TV and the Red Cross will be on hand prior to the game to collect donations of money and non-perishable items for the recent tornado and flood victims of the River Valley.

Tuesday night is Arvest Customer Appreciation Night. All Arvest customers presenting a bill, credit card, or debit card at the box office window receive $2 off their Premium, Reserved, or Subway Berm ticket, and 93.3 The Eagle will broadcast live before the game. In addition, Sponge Bob Square Pants will be on hand greeting fans and also taking photos with the kids. Gates open at six and the fun begins at 7:00 P.M.

Wednesday night is our first HALF PRICE GROUP NIGHT. Groups of 20 or more are offered half off our normal ticket prices in the reserved and Subway Berm section. Hot Mix 101.9 will be on hand broadcasting live before the game. Gates will open at 6:00 and game time is 7:00.

Thursday night wraps up the series with Springfield and will be our first Thirsty Thursday. Ten-ounce Miller High Life draft and 12-ounce Pepsi fountain beverages will be offered for one buck. ESPN Radio 1190 The Fan and 104.9 The X will be broadcasting live before the game offering prizes and cool promotions. Game time is 7:00 and gates will open at 6.

Friday night ushers in the return of the Arkansas Diamond Series as the Arkansas Travelers of North Little Rock get their first look at the Naturals' digs in Springdale. The two teams resume their series for the Car Mart Cup beginning with a 7:30 tilt Friday evening (gates open at 5:30). If its Friday, that means we have our fridaynightbash™, sponsored by Sea Pak, which includes Post-Game Fireworks, and pre-game entertainment courtesy of Stone Manor Condominiums. Friday is also Northwest Arkansas Community College Affiliation Night, offering all area students with valid school ID the chance to get $1 off a reserved or lawn seat ticket at our box office! Kix 104 will be on hand prior to the game broadcasting live outside the ballpark. This Friday is also a Nestle Drumstick® Family Night, where fans can sample special Nestle Drumstick® products before the game and also redeem a Nestle Drumstick® UPC code for $1 off their ticket at the ticket window.

Saturday night, America's Car Mart presents the first 2,500 fans with a souvenir t-shirt giveaway commemorating the budding Travelers-Naturals rivalry, and Power 105.7 will be on hand broadcasting live before the game outside the front gates. Game time is 7:00 P.M, and gates will open at 6.

Sunday afternoon the wrap-around series with Arkansas continues on Family Sunday presented by Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products and Magic 107.9. Game time is 4 P.M (gates open at 3), and kids run the bases after the game! Before the game, Magic 107.9 will broadcast live. In addition, popular entertainment act Birdzerk! will be on hand for a special appearance. Birdzerk! has been entertaining minor league baseball fans for years and makes over 100 appearances at minor league ballparks each year. Visit him online at www.birdzerk.com.

Monday wraps up the homestand and the first home series against the Travelers.
