Chicago Wolves News Release

Former Chicago Wolves Play-By-Play Announcer JUDD SIROTT will be a guest contributor on Wolves broadcasts for the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs, beginning when the squad opens the West Division Semifinal at the Allstate Arena on Wed., April 16 at 7 p.m.

SIROTT, who has broadcast the NHL on HDNet for the past two seasons, will join Wolves Play-By-Play Announcer PAT FOLEY and Color Analyst BILL GARDNER, live on Comcast Cable, as a rinkside and feature reporter throughout the postseason for the second consecutive year.

"The Wolves are like family to me, so it's a privilege to be back," said SIROTT. "It's also an honor to come back and work with Pat and Billy. I'll try to complement their broadcast with a rinkside perspective...and get them as much coffee as they need for each game."

SIROTT was the voice of the Wolves from the team's inception in 1994 until the end of the 2005-06 season, which included serving as the lead announcer for all TV broadcasts for 10 years. The Chicago native, who called more than 1,000 games, was on board for all three Wolves championships: the 1998 and 2000 International Hockey League Turner Cups and the 2002 American Hockey League Calder Cup.

"Judd's rinkside reporting opens up a whole new level of access for our fans," said Wolves Executive Vice President of Business Operations Mike Berndt. "The exclusive, behind-the-scenes exposure will be a welcome addition during our posteason run."

The Wolves, who have already clinched the West Division title, will host Games 1 and 2 of the West Division Semifinal at the Allstate Arena on Wed., April 16 at 7 p.m., and Fri., April 18 at 7:30 p.m. The squad's opponent will be determined from a pool which includes the Houston Aeros, Milwaukee Admirals, San Antonio Rampage and Rockford IceHogs.
