Colorado Eagles News Release
LOVELAND, Colo. - In an effort to find the right goaltending mix, the Colorado Eagles today waived Ian Keserich and have invited Jamie Hodson to practice. Similar to the way Bryan Bridges was brought in earlier this year, Hodson is limited to practicing with the team until his visa is cleared by Homeland Security.
Hodson, a Lenore, Manitoba native, was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round (number 69 overall) in the 1998 draft. In six and a half professional seasons, the 6-foot-2-inch, 198-pound goalie has played for seven teams in three leagues (ECHL, AHL and UHL). He has spent the last season and a half with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL, posting a 30-19-13 record in 64 games with a 2.83 GAA and a .911 save percentage.
Keserich played in seven games this year for the Eagles -- his first stint in the CHL -- and compiled a 2-2-2 record; he did not earn a decision in his last game due to receiving a game misconduct (secondary fighting) penalty after the first period. In 364 minutes of play, Keserich recorded a 3.95 GAA and a .897 save percentage for Colorado. "Ian has worked very hard for our team and I know he'll find success in the future," said Eagles President, General Manager and Head Coach Chris Stewart. "I wish him all the best in pursuing his professional career."
