Mississippi RiverKings News Release

The Central Hockey League today suspended Mississippi RiverKings forward Sheldon Wenzel and defenseman Jason Lawmaster for one game each following the brawl at the end of the first period of Saturday's game at the DeSoto Civic Center against the Colorado Eagles.

Wenzel ended up fighting at center ice with Eagles forward Fraser Filipic, who also received a one-game suspension from the league. Ironically, Lawmaster did not incur any penalty minutes at any point during the game.

The league also suspended Eagles defenseman Les Borsheim for three games. Like Lawmaster, Borsheim did not receive any penalties during the contest.

Wenzel and Lawmaster will miss Friday's game against the Texas Brahmas.
