SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Providence Bruins defenseman Sean Curry has been named the Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending December 16, 2007. Curry recorded four goals, two assists and a plus-5 rating as the Bruins swept a four-game week to remain atop the AHL's overall standings.

Curry scored a big third-period goal and added an assist in Providence's 6-5 shootout win over Lowell on Wednesday, then scored twice - including the game-winner - in a 4-1 victory over Bridgeport on Friday. He again recorded a goal and an assist in a 6-1 win at Lowell on Saturday, then notched a plus-3 rating to help the Bruins defeat Houston, 4-1, on Sunday.
