Royal de Montréal takes on Montreal Legends

Montreal, Canada (October 29, 2007) - As a prelude to its regular season in the American Basketball Association, the Royal de Montréal is staging a once-in-a-lifetime game between its 2007-2008 squad and the Montreal Legends all-star team.
The Montreal Legends, led by Trevor "Turbo" Williams, brings together some of the greatest players in the history of Montreal basketball: Wayne Yearwood, Dwight Walton, Dexter John, Pascal Fleury, Craig Norman and others. "This isn't going to be some friendly exhibition," said Yearwood. "There's a lot of pride and talent on our team. We are going to bring it on the court."
The Royal's '07-'08 lineup features Bobby Miller, Denkerk Reid, Marco Volcy,
Q. Randall........ and the rest of the Royal players to make up what promises to be the most competitive Montreal team the ABA has seen to date.
"It's going to be a classic confrontation between the Old School and the New School of Montreal basketball, said Pascal Jobin, co-owner of the Royal de Montréal. "A lot of people are looking forward to see how the teams will match-up."
The game will be held on Friday, November 2nd at Centre Pierre-Charbonneau. Tip off is at 7:00 pm (with doors opening at 6:00 pm). Tickets ($10 for adults; $6 for Students and 4$ for students wearing team jersey or t-shirt) will be available at Centre Pierre-Charbonneau. Part of the proceeds for the game will go to the Trevor Williams Kids Foundation in support of local, youth basketball.
The Royal opens up its regular season at home, on November 9th, against the defending ABA champions, the Vermont Frost Heaves.
