The Great Lakes Loons dropped the final game of a brief two-game series with the Lansing Lugnuts Thursday night, 8-2. The loss ends the Loons' franchise-record winning streak at five games.
Garrett White (1-4), making his second career start, allowed three runs in six innings of work. Yulkin German relieved him in the seventh and was tagged with five runs in two-thirds of an inning.
Lansing center fielder Chris Emanuele hit a solo home run in the first inning to kick-start the Lugnuts' offense. Travis Snider had three hits.
The Loons' lone runs were driven home on a double by Scott Van Slyke in the seventh, who was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple.
A crowd of 4,941 was on hand for Lance Parrish Bobblehead Night, presented by HealthPlus of Michigan. Many of those in attendance arrived early and waited for the Dow Diamond gates to open to be one of the first 1,000 fans through the gates.
