AHL announces suspensions

March 12, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL) News Release


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. . The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:

Philadelphia Phantoms left wing Riley Cote has been suspended for six (6) regular-season games and Philadelphia Phantoms defenseman Martin Grenier has been suspended for three (3) regular-season games as a result of their actions during an AHL game at Bridgeport on Mar. 10.

Both players have been suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 70.6 for leaving the players' bench during an altercation.

Cote missed the Phantoms' game on Sunday (Mar. 11) at Portland. He will also miss games on Mar. 16 vs. Rochester, Mar. 17 at Hershey, Mar. 18 vs. Bridgeport, Mar. 21 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Mar. 23 vs. Springfield.

Grenier will miss the Phantoms' games on Mar. 16 vs. Rochester, Mar. 17 at Hershey and Mar. 18 vs. Bridgeport.

Hershey Bears left wing Louis Robitaille has been suspended for one (1) regular-season game as a result of his actions during an AHL game at Portland on Mar. 10

Robitaille received a major penalty for checking from behind and a game misconduct in the first period of the game.

Robitaille will miss the Bears' game at Worcester on Friday (Mar. 16).
