RoadRunners Acquire Tuomi, Deal Him To Charlotte

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, an affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, have acquired defenseman Niko Tuomi from the Pensacola Ice Pilots to complete a previous trade for goaltender Mike Mole, and have traded Tuomi to the Charlotte Checkers to complete the previous trades for defensemen Ren Fauci and Mathew Deschamps.

The RoadRunners traded Mole to Pensacola in exchange for future considerations on Oct. 6, 2006. Phoenix received Fauci on Nov. 11, 2006 from Charlotte in exchange for future considerations, and traded him to the Columbia Inferno for the rights to forward Chanse Fitzpatrick as part of a three-way trade. The RoadRunners acquired Deschamps in a separate deal with Charlotte for future considerations on Dec. 11, 2006.

Phoenix returns to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Tuesday as they welcome the Texas Wildcatters for the opening game of a two-game series. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
