
CSS to Televise R-Braves Game Thursday

Richmond, Virginia August 1, 2006 Comcast Sports South will televise the Durham Bulls at Richmond Braves for week seven of its 10-week, 2006 Minor League Game of the Week broadcast schedule. The IL game will also air on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. The game will be televised live on CSS (Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast) and CSN (Central Virginia and the mid-Atlantic), Thursday, August 3rd at 7:00 pm (ET). Durham boasts nine players rated in Baseball America's Top-30 of the Devil Rays organization: 1) OF Delmon Young, 3) RHP Jason Hammel, 5) OF Elijah Dukes, 7) 1B Wes Bankston (who was with Montgomery when CSS televised the Biscuits on June 22nd), 8) RHP Chad Orvella, 11) C Shawn Riggans, 24) LHP Chris Seddon, 26) RHP Brian Stokes and 27) RHP Juan Salas.
Richmond has three players rated in Baseball America's Top-30 of the Braves organization: 15) C Brayan Pena, 17) 2B Martin Prado and 24) 1B James Jurries. 11th-rated prospect Scott Thorman hit .324 with 15 HRs and 44 RBI before being promoted to Atlanta this summer. Six other players on the Richmond roster have logged time with Atlanta this season, RHP Kevin Barry, RHP Peter Moylan, RHP Phil Stockman, RHP Lance Cormier, Pena and Prado.
For a third consecutive season, CSS Sports Anchor Matt Stewart is calling the play-by-play for the network's minor league baseball coverage. He is joined this season by former minor league manager Nick Belmonte, who has worked with CSS for a number of years on its college baseball coverage.
