THE HILLCATS...Play the middle-game of a three-game series against their Northern Division rival, the Wilmington Blue Rocks, at Frawley Stadium in Delaware...Squandered an early two-run lead in falling to the Blue Rocks 6-2 in the series opener last night...Fell to 11-13 on the season in series lid lifters....Have lost five consecutive games for the first time since the team dropped six consecutive decisions from 5/17-5/23...Went 28 days without playing a Northern Division squad prior to last night...

DEBUT: SS Brent Lillibridge (see page 7) and INF Juan Tejeda (see page 10) both made their team debuts last night...Lillibridge went 1-for-3 with a single and a sacrifice bunt...The shortstop was hitting .299-11-43 with Low-A Hickory...Tejeda was hitless in four at-bats with a strikeout last night...The 24-year old began the season with Triple-A Norfolk (NY Mets) and hit .217-2-16...

DEBUT II: Former Hillcats'OF Nyjer Morgan (.303-0-22) and SS Brian Bixler (.303-5-33) both made their Double-A debuts last night...Morgan went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a stolen base and a triple...Bixler went 1-for-4 with a single in his second at-bat of the game...Altoona lost the game to the Bowie Baysox, 6-3...

RBI GUY: By virtue of an RBI-single in the third inning Thursday night, 1B Steve Pearce now has 64 RBIs on the season between Low-A Hickory and Lynchburg...That is tied for the fourth highest total in all of the minors...Visalia's Shaun Cumberland (A, California) currently leads the minors with 66 RBIs...

SCORELESS: LHP Greg Martin went 0.1 scoreless innings on Thursday to extend his scoreless innings streak to 21.1 innings (see graphic below)...It is the longest streak since Sean Burnett's franchise record 32.1 scoreless innings streak in 2002...In addition, it is tied for the fifth longest streak in Hillcats history

ALL-STAR GAME: The Carolina League defeated the California League 6-3 on Tuesday night at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium...Frederick Keys OF Nolan Reimold garnered MVP honor's by going 2-for- 3... The California League has never defeated the Carolina League on East Coast soil...

FUTURES GAME: Hillcats C Neil Walker was named to the 2006 Futures Game roster last week...The game will take place on July 9th at PNC Park in Pittsburgh and will be broadcast live on ESPN2 (7 inning contest)...Walker grew up in Gibsonia, PA and was selected with the11th overall selection in the 2004 draft... ON THE D.L.: RHP Felipe Garcia (arm) has been inactive since 6/15...RHP Clayton Hamilton (oblique) has not appeared since 6/14...OF Antonio Sucre (ankle) has not appeared since 5/16...

TONIGHT'S OPPONENT: Tommy Hottovy, 24, is a 6-1, 195-pound left-hander selected by Boston in the 4th round of the 2004 draft out of Wichita State University. Following the draft, he was assigned to Lowell (SS, NY-Penn) and went 0-1, with a 0.89 ERA in 14 starts (30.1 ip, 24 h, 5 r, 3 er, 4 bb, 39 k). The Missouri native did not surrender an earned run in his first 8 appearances (14 innings). Last year he went 3-12 with a 5.45 ERA (25 g, 23 gs, 104.0 ip, 116 h, 74 r, 63 er, 37 bb, 82 k) with Wilmington. Hottovy, who was not drafted after his junior season, went 9-3 with a 2.26 ERA in 22 g while earning All-Missouri Valley Conference honors as a senior.

- Hottovy has gone 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 2 g, 2 gs vs. LYN in 2006 (13.1 ip, 16 h, 9 r, 8 er, 4 bb, 5 k, .291)

- Bloom has gone 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA in 2 g, 2 gs vs. WIL in 2006 (9.0 ip, 11 h, 7 r, 7 er, 4 bb, 4 k, .333)
