January 9, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) Pittsburgh Xplosion

Pittsburgh, PA. Led by Janerio Spurlock's 25 points, the ABA Pittsburgh Xplosion defeated the visiting Cleveland Rockers 152-117 at Mellon Arena for their sixth consecutive victory - and a clear statement that they are one of the East's strong teams. Center Armon Gillam scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and Wesley Fluellen and Darius Mattear each scored 18 for the explosion which improved its ABA record to 11-7. Chester Mason led the Rockers with 31 points.

The Xplosion have scored more than 145 points in five of their six victories for the team's impressive winning streak. At the mid-point of the regular 36-game ABA season, the Xplosion have a secure grip on second place in the Freddie Lewis Division, trailing only the undefeated Indiana Alley Cats.
