Pittsburgh, PA. Led by Janerio Spurlock's 25 points, the ABA Pittsburgh Xplosion defeated the visiting Cleveland Rockers 152-117 at Mellon Arena for their sixth consecutive victory - and a clear statement that they are one of the East's strong teams. Center Armon Gillam scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and Wesley Fluellen and Darius Mattear each scored 18 for the explosion which improved its ABA record to 11-7. Chester Mason led the Rockers with 31 points.The Xplosion have scored more than 145 points in five of their six victories for the team's impressive winning streak. At the mid-point of the regular 36-game ABA season, the Xplosion have a secure grip on second place in the Freddie Lewis Division, trailing only the undefeated Indiana Alley Cats.
