TONIGHT'S GAME: The first of a two game series and the first of six meetings here. Fifth of 12 meetings, Braves are 1-3 vs. the Clippers. Richmond plays the first of 13 straight home games tonight. The Braves were 1-5 on a six game road trip that ended last night. Richmond was 3-3 vs. the Clippers at The Diamond in the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs last year. The Braves are 8-14 vs. the West Division, 3-5 at The Diamond. The Braves are third in the South, 17 games out of first. The Clippers are third in the West, three games off the pace. The Braves are 334-377 all-time vs. the Clippers. Richmond has lost four straight games. It is the ninth time this season the Braves have dropped three or more in a row. They have also lost six of their last seven.

LAST NIGHT'S GAME: The Toledo Mud Hens beat the Braves 2-1 in 11 innings Sunday at Fifth Third Field. The two clubs battled through nine scoreless innings before trading leads in extra-innings. The Braves finished the road trip with their third straight loss. Braves starting pitcher Zach Miner worked five scoreless innings. Macay McBride and Frank Brooks had two inning shutout relief stints. Toledo starter Kenny Baugh pitched seven scoreless innings. The Braves finally broke through in the 10th on a Brayan Pena RBI double. The Hens tied the game in the bottom half when Carlos Pena chased a run home with a single. The Mud Hens won the game in the 11th on a Kevin Hooper sacrifice fly. The Braves had 10 hits but were one for 11 with runners in scoring position. Four Braves had two hits. Ryan Raburn had two hits for the Hens. Jason Karnuth was the winning pitcher. Kevin Barry took the loss. The Braves and Clippers each stole five bases last night.

SOLID STARTERS: Over the last 18 games Braves starting pitchers have allowed 30 earned runs in 98 innings (2.76 ERA). Braves starters are 4-6 with eight no decisions during that stretch. The Braves have used seven different starters in those 18 games. Braves starters have allowed only one home run since 6/14 vs. Syracuse (20 games).

CRUNCHING NUMBERS: The Braves have allowed only three home runs in their last 18 games. Richmond is in a stretch of 39 straight games vs. American League affiliates. Braves pitchers will not have to hit again in a game until July 9. The Braves are 17-37 vs. American League affiliates. Andy Marte has a five game hitting streak (7-17 .412). Brayan Pena has hits in four straight (4-14 .286). James Jurries is 17 for his last 40 (.425). Bill McCarthy is 0 for his last 19 The Braves are last in the IL in batting average, runs, and walks issued. Zach Miner is tenth in the league in ERA. Esix Snead is tied for the IL lead in stolen bases. Recent R-Braves acquisition Kerry Robinson still leads the PCL in steals with 26. The Braves have scored three runs in their last three games. The Braves had two five-steal games on the road trip.

AS THE LINEUP TURNS: Seth Greisinger has left the Braves organization to play in Korea. His roster spot has been filled by RHP Jeremy Ward returning from Mississippi. The active roster now stands at 24 (12 pitchers, two catchers, five infielders, and five outfielders with two players on the DL). The Braves have made 78 roster moves this season and lost 198 man-games to the disabled list. Nine Braves have earned big league call-ups this season and four are currently with Atlanta (Roman Colon, Kyle Davies, Kelly Johnson, and John Foster). The other five big league call-ups were Andy Marte, Frank Brooks, Matt Childers, Greisinger, and Brayan Pena. Nine Braves have been placed on the DL this season.
