
Braves drop 11-inning affair

TOLEDO, OH - The Toledo Mud Hens beat the Richmond Braves 2-1 in 11 innings Sunday at Fifth Third Field. The two clubs battled through nine scoreless innings before trading leads in extra-innings. The Braves finished the road trip with their third straight loss.
Braves starting pitcher Zach Miner worked five scoreless innings. Macay McBride and Frank Brooks had two inning shutout relief stints. Toledo starter Kenny Baugh pitched seven scoreless innings. The Braves finally broke through in the 10th on a Brayan Pena RBI double. The Hens tied the game in the bottom half when Carlos Pena chased a run home with a single. The Mud Hens won the game in the 11th on a Kevin Hooper sacrifice fly.
The Braves had 10 hits but were one for 11 with runners in scoring position. Four Braves had two hits. Ryan Raburn had two hits for the Hens. Jason Karnuth was the winning pitcher. Kevin Barry took the loss.
Richmond returns home tonight vs. the Columbus Clippers at 7 PM. Tonight's game is sold out.
