
Power and Blueclaws suspended after 10 1/2 innings

LAKEWOOD, NJ (JUNE 6, 2005) â The West Virginia Power and Lakewood BlueClaws were tied at 7-7 when the top of the 11th inning ended and it began to rain. The rain continued throughout the night and the game was suspended at First Energy Park in Lakewood, New Jersey.
Josh Murray gave the Power a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when he hit a solo homer, which was his fifth of the season. The Lakewood BlueClaws scored seven times in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 7-1 lead. Mike Dzurilla drove in the first run of the inning on an RBI double, Doug Gredvig gave the BlueClaws the lead when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Greg Isaacson drove in a pair of runs on a double. Mike Lombardi reached on Agustin Septimo's error and Ryan Frith brought in a pair of runs when he reached on Josh Murray's throwing error to give Lakewood a 7-1 lead. Josh Murray made it a 7-2 ballgame in the top of the seventh inning when he knocked in Carlos Corporan on an RBI groundout. In the top of the eighth inning the Power scored five times to tie the game. Grant Richardson and Nestor Corredor drew bases loaded walks, Carlos Corporan knocked in a run on a single and Josh Murray tied the game at 7-7 with a two run base hit.
The game will continue in the bottom of the eleventh inning when the two teams meet this weekend at Appalachian Power Park. The game will be continued on either Saturday or Sunday, but the specific day in which the game will be played has not been determined.
The Power will begin a four game series against Lexington on Tuesday evening at Appalachian Power Park. Right-handed pitcher Mark Rogers (0-4, 4.97) will throw for the Power and the Legends will counter with right-handed pitcher Jimmy Barthmaier (5-1, 2.16). The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
