Legends stay alive with 7-4 win

Lexington, KY:The Lexington Legends won a very important game to keep their first half hopes alive. The Legends climbed back to within a game of first place Hagerstown with a 7-4 win on Monday night. The two teams have split eight games this season.

The Suns (36-22) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after the top of the third, but Lexington scored four times to take the lead, 4-3 after three. The Suns never regained the lead, as Lexington (35-23) added two more in the fifth and one in eighth. Mike Carp's 15th homerun, a solo shot in the sixth, was the last Suns run as they fell short in the finale.

Jeff Landing (5-4) lost for the second time in as many starts against Lexington. He gave up six runs on seven hits and four walks. The winner for Lexington was thier starter, Juan Gutierrez (3-2), who went seven innings and allowed just four runs, three earned, on six hits.
