
Fisher Cat Pitcher Promoted to Triple-A

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH- Right-handed starting pitcher Shaun Marcum was promoted from the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats to the Triple-A Syracuse SkyChiefs today. Marcum was 7-1 with a 2.53 ERA in 9 starts with the Fisher Cats so far this season. He was originally selected in the 3rd round of the 2003 draft by the Blue Jays. He lost his first start of the season April 11 and won 7 straight since then.
Left-handed pitcher Zach Jackson was called up from the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays to take Marcum's spot on New Hampshire's roster. Jackson was a first round pick of the Blue Jays in the 2004 draft (32nd overall) out of Texas A&M. The 22-year-old Jackson is 8-1 with a 2.88 ERA in 10 starts with Dunedin this season.
The Fisher Cats return home on Tuesday, May 31 to take on the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. After the game on Tuesday, the Fisher Cats will have their first ever fireworks show at the ballpark. Fans will be invited onto the field to watch the display over the Merrimack River.
