Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

The Lakewood BlueClaws are inviting anyone that can prove their 15 minutes of fame to throw out a first pitch with Heidi Strobel (left) of the hit show, "Survivor Amazon," Ereka Vetrini (below) from Donald Trump's "The Apprentice" and Bill Butler from the New York Mets on May 10 at 6:35 p.m. when the BlueClaws host the Savannah Sand Gnats.

"The old adage says, everyone gets 15 minutes of fame and we want to make it 20, " Lakewood BlueClaws general manager Geoff Brown said. "This is another way to get them back in the lime light."

Fans that come to the game and have any type of proof that they had a moment in the spotlight will be invited to go down on the field at FirstEnergy Park and throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Acceptable items of proof include newspaper articles, magazine clippings and video tapes of newscasts.

All "famous" fans must report to the NJR Information Booth by 6:00 p.m. to participate in the first pitch ceremony.

The first well known face is Heidi Strobel from "Survivor Amazon." Heidi gained instant stardom and has become one of the most sought-after celebrities following her appearance on "Survivor Amazon" that aired on CBS in 2003.

Most recently Ereka Vertrini was one of 16 candidates that sought after a position working for Donald Trump on NBC's "The Apprentice." Ereka is a native New Yorker who graduated with honors from Boston College and has worked all over the world for some very recognizable companies.

Bill Butler is currently with the New York Mets and is the first member of the Lakewood BlueClaws organization to make it to the Major League level.

All three will be available to meet with fans and sign autographs on the concourse.

For ticket information call the Lakewood BlueClaws front office at 732-901-7000, Option 2. For the latest news and BlueClaws information visit the team's official website at www.lakewoodblueclaws.com.
