Carolina Signs Offensive Lineman Bill Vavau

January 17, 2019 - GREENSBORO - Carolina makes a big move, signing offensive lineman Bill Vavau (6'4", 320) from Utah State for 2019. Vavau played in ten games for the Massachusetts Pirates in 2018, including their 50-36 loss to the Columbus Lions in the playoff semi-finals. Prior to his time with the Pirates, Vavau played ball for the Spokane Empire in 2017 and with the Colorado Crush from 2015-2016, with both teams coming from the IFL. 2018 NAL Coach of the Year Joins Cobras

January 5, 2019 - GREENSBORO - Former Massachusetts Pirates head coach Ameer Ismail will be joining the Cobras 2019 coaching staff. After leading the Pirates to the top record in the NAL this past season (11-5) and winning the NAL Coach of the Year Award, Ismail has decided to move in a different direction with his career. "Sometimes you gotta take a step back to grow higher than before," Ismail states. "I've developed a great friendship with coach Back and after meeting [Cobra's owner] Mr. Storm it's a great fit. January 5, 2019 - GREENSBORO - Former Massachusetts Pirate Nick Haag (6'3", 240) will be joining the Cobras for the 2019 season. Haag, a native to Worcester, Massachusetts, fit right in with the Pirates, playing in his hometown and helping lead the Pirates to the best regular season record in the NAL in 2018 (11-5), playing in 16 of their 17 games. "I'm truly blessed and excited to become a part of the Cobra family," Haag said on signing. "I felt it was the best fit for me as a player and somewhere I knew I'd fit in!" Coach Back said...
