New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The New Orleans Zephyrs open the second half of the 2010 season on Thursday with the first of a four-game series against the Memphis Redbirds.
The Redbirds are making the first of two visits to Zephyr Field over the next two weeks. Each of the Zephyrs' next eight home games will be against the defending Pacific Coast League champions.
The homestand begins Thursday at 7:00 p.m. with Law & Order Night, when all police officers and their families (limit four) will receive free admission. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand and Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro will throw out the ceremonial first pitches, and it will be Thirsty Thursday, with dollar sodas and $2 beer specials.
The series continues with a postgame fireworks show on Friday, themed as British Invasion Night, with music from the biggest bands from "across the pond" all night. The Brits continue to take center stage on Saturday - Beatles Night - a tribute to the "Fab Four" with music, trivia, and a postgame concert featuring Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Tribute Band. The weekend concludes with Sunday's Kids Day, as the first 500 kids will eat free and get to run the bases on the field after the game.
For tickets or for more information, please contact the Zephyrs at (504) 734-5155.
