Beavers Start Second Half Thursday with Eight-Game Homestand
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers open the second half of the season Thursday night with an eight-game homestand against Colorado Springs and Reno, which features a host of special events, including a post-game fireworks display Friday, the annual Art in the Park celebration Saturday and Bark in the Park Tuesday at PGE Park.
The homestand begins and ends with Miller Lite Thursdays, which feature pre-game food and beverage specials in addition to a concert by some great local bands. All of the action can be found in the Widmer Garden at 6 p.m. Thursday's homestand opener is a special Ladies Night at PGE Park.
Friday night's game against Colorado Springs will be followed by an exciting fireworks display, emanating from the center field concourse. Additionally, Friday is another Cricket Wireless Family 4-Pack night. Family packs start at just $48 and feature game tickets, food, beverages, Cricket Wireless family plan coupons and Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center attraction tickets.
Saturday marks the return of Art in the Park on a Fred Meyer Super Giveaway Saturday, presented by FSA. Fans who come early get limited-edition polyresin baseballs that can be customized at one of the painting stations around the stadium, courtesy of FSA.
Sunday's finale with the Sky Sox is a Kids Sunday at PGE Park. Before the game, kids can play catch on the field and enjoy the Beavers' Kids-Eat-Free Plan before the 2:05 p.m. first pitch. Kids can get their faces painted all day and meet Beavers players while getting autographs before the game. A post-game run around the bases is the perfect way to cap the afternoon.
But the homestand rolls on as the Reno Aces come to town on a Make-A-Difference Monday before Tuesday's Bark in the Park on Fred Meyer $4 Tuesday. During the day, 200 general admission tickets will be available for $4 through the PGE Park box office and Ticketmaster outlets at local Fred Meyer locations. Of course, all dogs gain free admission.
Tickets for the Beavers series against Colorado Springs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, and Reno, the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, are available through the PGE Park box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000. Thursday, July 15 Ladies Night / Miller Lite Thursday - Beavers vs. Colorado Springs - 7:05 p.m. Get a group together and head out to Ladies Night on Miller Lite Thursday at PGE Park as the Beavers open up the homestand against the Sky Sox. New in 2010, Miller Lite Thursdays will feature local bands playing pre-game sets when the gates open at 6 p.m. Thursday's game will be preceded by a 6 p.m. concert in the Widmer Garden, featuring the band, 'Merrill.' As always, come enjoy the variety of Miller Lite Thursday food and beverage specials prior to the first pitch, from 6-7 p.m. in the Widmer Garden.
Friday, July 16 Post-game fireworks / Zenner's $1 Menu Friday - Beavers vs. Colorado Springs - 7:05 p.m. Come to the Beavers' game Friday against the division-rival Sky Sox and stick around for post-game fireworks. It's also the only Zenner's $1 Menu Friday of July, featuring select menu items - Zenner's hot dogs, Sierra Springs water and Fudgesicle and Creamsicle treats - for only $1. Saturday, July 17 Art in the Park / Beavers Polyresin Baseball Giveaway presented by FSA - Beavers vs. Colorado Springs - 7:05 p.m. The Beavers' annual Art in the Park celebration hits PGE Park Saturday night. This season, the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a polyresin baseball presented by FSA as part of the Beavers' season-long Fred Meyer Super Giveaway Saturday promotion. Fans can then take their spherical canvases to one of the painting stations on the PGE Park concourse and create their own baseball art.
Sunday, July 18 Kids Sunday - Beavers vs. Colorado Springs - 2:05 p.m. The great summer weather has finally hit Portland, and what better way to enjoy it than at the only day game of the homestand? Every Sunday is Kids Sunday at PGE Park. Prior to the first pitch, all kids 12 and under can take advantage of the Beavers' Kids-Eat-Free plan, play catch on the field and get autographs from Beavers players. As with every Kids Sunday, kids can run the bases after the game.
Monday, July 19 Make-A-Difference Monday - Beavers vs. Reno - 7:05 p.m. The Beavers open their four-game series with Reno Monday night. On Make-A-Difference Monday, the Sunshine Division will be on-hand to collect non-perishable food items at the park. Anyone who donates to the cause will receive a coupon good for a free ticket of equal or lesser value with the purchase of one ticket.
Tuesday, July 20 Bark in the Park / Fred Meyer $4 Tuesday - Beavers vs. Reno - 7:05 p.m. With the dog days of summer upon us, it's time to let the dogs out at PGE Park. At the Beavers' second Bark in the Park this season, fans are invited to bring man's best friend to enjoy the Beavers' game against the Reno Aces. The longest homestand of July continues on a Fred Meyer $4 Tuesday, as, throughout the day, 200 general admission tickets will be available for $4 through the PGE Park box office and Ticketmaster outlets at local Fred Meyer locations.
Wednesday, July 21 Win-Win Wednesday - Beavers vs. Reno - 7:05 p.m. The Beavers try to send the fans home happy for the third straight Win-Win Wednesday at PGE Park. A Beavers win over the Aces means fans will receive a voucher good for a ticket to a future Sunday-Wednesday Beavers home game, and they will be treated to a voucher to nearby Tropical Smoothie.
Thursday, July 22 Miller Lite Thursday - Beavers vs. Reno - 7:05 p.m. Bring a group out to one of the final Miller Lite Thursdays of the season at PGE Park as the Beavers wrap up the homestand against the Aces. Enjoy a pre-game performance from local act 'Mars Retrieval Unit' in the Widmer Garden at 6 p.m., and, as always, take advantage of the Miller Lite Thursday food and beverage specials prior to the first pitch, from 6-7 p.m. in the Widmer Garden.
