
Z's lose two in Omaha

Omaha shortstop Mario Lisson had two hits and drove home three runs in the Royals 7-3 win over the Zephyrs at Rosenblatt Stadium.
The Zephyrs scored first with a Cameron Maybin double, followed by a Gookie Dawkins RBI double to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Omaha answered with two runs in the second inning. Z's starter Rick Vandenhurk suffered his second loss of the season for the Z's pitching six innings and allowed four runs.
Heath Phillips pitched six innings and allowed one run and earned his seventh win of the year. The Royals lead the series 2 games to one.
Omaha also won the completion of the suspended game from July 3rd 3-2 in 11 innings.
Game Notes: Z's pitcher Nate Field was named to Team USA. He will pitch at the World Cup Games. Team USA begins World Cup play on Sept 9 in Regensburg, Germany. Field left the Zephyrs Wednesday to start training in North Carolina with Team USA.
Coming Up: The Zephyrs continue a six game series at Rosenblatt Stadium on Friday evening. The Zephyrs will start RH Hayden Penn (2-4, 4.42) against RH Chris Nicoll (1-1, 9.00) for Omaha. RADIO: AM 690 WIST
