The Salt Lake Bees scored 10 runs in the first two innings and went on to defeat the Colorado Springs Sky Sox by the score of 10-2 on Thursday evening at Security Service Field in front of 5,816 fans.

Sky Sox starter Esmil Rogers (1-5) was off his game tonight and the Bees took advantage of it as they roughed him up for ten earned runs on seven hits and four walks in just 1.1 innings of work. It ended up being Rogers' shortest outing of the season.

For the Bees, Freddy Sandoval finished the night 4-for-6 with a double, two runs and two RBIs and Chris Pettit went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs to lead the Bees 15 hit attack.

Brad Salmon (6-4) picked up the win after working 5.2 innings of shutout baseball giving up just four hits but walking five.

Game three of the five-game series is set for a 7:05 PM start tomorrow night with RH Russ Ortiz (0-0, 2.25) starting for the Sox versus RH Mike MacDonald (7-11, 6.05).
