
Z's lose in Oklahoma

Oklahoma designated hitter Jason Botts drove home four runs as the Redhawks defeated the Zephyrs 11-3 in game one of a four game set in Oklahoma City. The Redhawks offense erupted in the fifth inning, with the score tied at three the Hawks sent nine batters to the plate and scored five times. Desi Relaford hit a three run home run off of reliever Jose Santiago to cap the inning. Z's starter Adam Bostick hit the first two batters of the game and went on to pitch into the fifth inning allowing seven runs on nine hits and suffered the defeat. Three Oklahoma pitchers combined to walk ten batters, strikeout 11 and allow the Zephyrs to leave a season high 14 men on base. Reliever Steve Rowe earned the win. Ruben Gotay had two hits and drove home a RBI for the Z's. Z's outfielder Ricky Ledee drove home seven RBI on Tuesday night went 0x5 on Thursday and struckout five times.
Game Notes: Lastings Milledge has been placed on the disabled list with a sprained ligament in his right foot. Catcher Robinson Cancel rejoined the Zephyrs from Binghamton. Outfielder Carlos Gomez reached base for the 21st consecutive game. The five strikeouts for Ledee, marks the first time a Zephyr had struckout five times in a game since Kyle Logan on May 27th, 2003 against the Edmonton Trappers.
Coming Up: The first place Zephyrs (12-9) and Oklahoma Redhawks (10-10) will meet on Friday night at AT@T Ballpark in Oklahoma City. New Orleans will start PCL Pitcher of the week Philip Humber (2-1, 3.00) vs. LH John Koronka (1-2, 6.55).
