MEMPHIS - The Zephyrs ninth inning rally fell short for the second consecutive night, the Zephyrs scored a run and had two base runners on when Miguel Socolovich pitched out of the jam for his second save of the season. The Redbirds defeated New Orleans 4-3 to win their third consecutive over the Zephyrs.

Austin Nola led the offensive attack for the Zephyrs with a pair of runs batted in. He drove in a run in the second and added his fourth home run of the season in the sixth inning.

Memphis tied the game in the sixth inning scoring a pair of runs. The Birds took the lead in the seventh with a two run home run off the bat of David Washington.

The Zephyrs and Redbirds were involved in a bench clearing brawl in the fifth inning that had five players get ejected including Zephyr starting pitcher Jose Urena. He had worked four and two third innings and had allowed just two hits.

John Brebbia got the win working one inning of relief. Craig Breslow suffered the loss.

The Zephyrs have dropped four consecutive to fall to 36-40 for the season. Memphis has won three in a row and is 37-40.

The Zephyrs and Redbirds wrap up the series on Tuesday at 7pm.
