The Las Vegas 51's scored three runs in the eighth inning rallying to defeat the visiting Zephyrs 6-4 on Wednesday night. Norihiro Nakamura drilled the first pitch from reliever CJ Nitkowski over the right center field wall for a two run game winning home run. The Z's struck first scoring a run in the first and added a pair of runs in the second. Starter Chad Durbin pitched well for the Zephyrs working six innings and allowed 2 unearned runs off of two hits. The Z's made some mistakes in the fifth inning. Two errors and two walks led to a pair of unearned runs. Joe Horgan suffered the loss for New Orleans as he had his third blown save of the year. Franquellis Osorio earned the win pitching two scorless frames in relief. The series is even at one game and the third game of the four game set is tonight.
Game Notes: The Nationals designated outfielder Kenny Kelly for assignment, he was optioned to the Zephyrs and is expected to join the team in the next few days. Outfielder Tyrell Godwin missed his second straight start due to a sore knee. He did enter the game in the eighth as a defensive replacement.
