
Z's Fall to Sacramento

Sacramento designated hitter Dee Brown, a former Zephyr drilled a solo home run to lead off the 7th inning to break a one - one tie as the Rivercats defeated the Zephyrs 4-1 at Raley Field on Friday. The New Orleans offense was silenced by starting pitcher Brad Knox he allowed one run in two hits in seven innings of work.
Knox earned his 8th win of the season. Zephyr starter Jason Vargas pitched well working six innings and allowed one run on four hits. Eddie Camacho entered the game in the seventh inning and absorbed the loss giving up the home run to Brown on his third pitch of the game. Camacho allowed another run and reliever Ryan Cullen allowed a run in the eighth inning.
The Rivercats bullpen held the Z's with out a hit in the final two innings and Ruddy Lugo pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his tenth save of the season. The Z's have dropped two consecutive games for the first time since July 21st..... Sacramento leads the series two games to one.
