PORTLAND, Ore. - Brian Myrow lined a bases-loaded single through the left side of the infield to plate the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Portland Beavers defeated the Nashville Sounds 4-3 before 6,833 Friday night at PGE Park.

The Beavers (46-68) had a 3-2 lead going into the ninth, but the Sounds (68-45) rallied to tie it against reliever Jared Wells, getting consecutive doubles from Drew Anderson and Ozzie Chavez.

But in the bottom of the ninth, Ray Chang hit a leadoff double and two eventual intentional walks loaded the bases for Myrow, whose one-out single gave the Beavers a 2-1 lead in the series while extending his current hitting streak to 10 games in the process.

The hit made a winner of Wells (3-7), who also suffered his second blown save of the season.

Greg Aquino (2-2) came on in the ninth for Nashville and took the loss.

A solo homer by former Beaver Mike Rivera and an RBI single by Chavez gave the Sounds a 2-0 lead in the top of the second.

In the fourth, Frank Menechino singled and scored on an RBI double by Craig Stansberry. Yordany Ramirez' solo homer one inning later tied things, and the Beavers went up 3-2 when Hiram Bocachica's one-out single to left was enough to score Terrmel Sledge from second base in a close play at the plate.

The Beavers conclude their series with the Sounds Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.

NOTES: Twelve-year major league veteran pitcher Shawn Estes is scheduled to start for the Beavers on Saturday night ... Stansberry's double was his 31st of the season, placing him in a four-way tie for fourth place among Beavers single-season leaders in the category since the team returned to the PCL in 2001. Jon Knott (2005) and Paul McAnulty (2006) share the lead with 34.
