Game Keys - Mat Gamel ripped four hits and drove in four runs for Nashville as the Sounds defeated the Zephyrs 10-6 on a rainy Friday night at Greer Stadium. The Z's jumped on Sounds starter Mike Burns, scoring three runs in the first inning . Nashville answered with three runs in the bottom of the first inning to tie the game. New Orleans took the lead with a leadoff home run in the second inning by Dave Matranga, the first home run of the season for the Z's. The Sounds scored three in the fourth and added three more runs in the fourth inning off of starter Brett Sinkbeil. The Z's starter worked 3.1 innings allowing 9 runs off 11 hits and suffered the defeat. Reliever Lindsey Gulin pitched four innings and struck out six to earn the win for Nashville. The Z's were led by Michael Ryan's two for three performance with two more RBI. The series is even at one.
Game Notes: The Z's Michael Ryan is batting .833 after two games batting five for six with two RBI and a pair of walks. Coming Up: The Zephyrs and Sounds meet at 6PM on Saturday night in Nashville. New Orleans will start RH Burke Badenhop against RH Mike Burns. RADIO: AM 690 WIST.
